The name Santa Barbara pays homage to our land, our tradition and those we worship.
The history of this place dates back to the 6th century when Senigallia was a Byzantine city and a Lombardic (and therefore “barbarian”) outpost was set up in a nearby village.
Since then, that village took the name of Barbara which is where our winery is located today, having the privilege of being housed in an old monastery.
In the following centuries, Santa Barbara also became the protector of the village and is, as always, a dear figure for its inhabitants who have idolised her since ancient times.
Even today, we have a strong bond to an ancient statue housed inside the baroque church of the same name and also of a sacred altarpiece that dates back to the 7th century currently exhibited in the administrative offices of the municipality of Barbara
